He has done the footage research on notable series like Deaf Century as well as single documentaries such as D-day and Children of the Revolution and feature films like The Stone of Destiny and The Flying Scotsman. He combines applying his specialist knowledge of newsreel sources with broader research as well as developing archive-based projects on stirring historical subjects for TV and online.His knowledge of international sources and copyright issues is extensive.

Steve Bergson has worked across the broadcast spectrum from ITV to the BBC, mainly for independent production companies such as Mentorn, RDF, Reda, Brook Lapping, Lion TV, Blast Films, Darlow Smithson and Tiger Aspect. Working mainly in factual TV, he has also contributed to feature films like Nick Broomfield's Battle for Haditha, Death of a President, Calendar Girls, The Special Relationship and Challenger as well as award-winning dramas such as the BAFTA-gaining Britz. He has produced archive-based dcoumentaries and written for and edited print and online zines about the trade. A frequent speaker at workshops, his recent work includes Bolshoi Babylon, 25 Years of Hubble and Great Train Railway Journeys.
